Welcome To The

de Reeper

Homepage

Our family hails from France and was already well established in 1575, which is the first date I have been able to confirm in the research of my line of direct Forefathers. It is still a growing research as technology enables us to research records and registres that before were not accesble to us.
If you have any information about our family or interesting facts, please E-mail me: jacbrabant@xtra.co.nz
It is the intention to publish documents in my possesion, photocopies of registres and  records of death notices, signatures of our forefathers and devotional memorial cards, pertaining to the deceased, as is the custom in Europe  and other memoriabilia photo's etc.
The original home of the de Reeper family was St.Omer in the north of France and our branch then moved gradually to Dunkerk The next move was to the Netherlands to the city of Vlissingen. This is less than 200 years ago,so it is a good oportunity to organise a de Reeper reunion of all the de Reepers in the Netherlands at the 2 nd century of the clan in the Netherlands.
My Grandfather(J.F.M. de Reeper)moved to 's Hertogenbosch and from there we moved to New Zealand.
There is still a large number of "de Reepers" in France and I am in contact with Albert Dereeper of Verez who's forefather is the same as ours and he goes back to the son Petrus as were   we go back to his brother Jacques.
They spell  the name in one word Dereeper.
Belgium too has a fair number of Dereeper' s largely gathered in and around Koekelaere and I am indebted to Triphon Dereeper who encouraged me in my beginning of research.
I have had a lot of assistence of Triphon Dereeper in Koekelare and have stayed with him.
In years to come I am sure we'll make the connection with the various branches There is even a Dereeper in Papeete(Tahiti) that I am in correspondence with.
